I suppose this means I owe you a pic of some kind. (I am kind of hammering at coloring one of those CC'd pics in Paint... because I don't have anything better to paint with.)

Well, I created this picture in Photoshop and made the slime the hard way I imagine. I didn't draw it by hand, which probably would have turned out better.
Anyway, I create a new layer over the layer of Starfire pre-slimed and then used the brush tool to draw ropes of slime here and there and a couple of scattered blobs. I used a thick brush.
Then, I use the dodge tool and apply highlights to the slime. I got lazy and just applied the dodge randomly in some parts, but you might want to use dodge on the edges of the blobs or the interior of where the ropes of slime get thinner. Use your imagination.
I then use the burn tool and darkened parts of the slime, like the corners or blobs where the ooze collected. Or randomly. You just have to play with it.
Now that I'm done with all that, I use the liquefy command under filters and use the wave tool (high pressure) and use it to distort the slime and deform it like crazy to make it look more sticky and web-like.
Finally I go to Filters > Artistic > Plastic Wrap, and cross my fingers. It's hit and miss and you'll probably have to play around with it until you get it right. Use the smear tool or the use the eraser tool and reduce opacity to make the goo look more transparent.
Repeat for another layer if you want and add more slime until you're satisfied. In layer properties you can adjust the opacity to make layers look more transparent and blend better.
Phew...well thats how I made this one. I'm still learning, so if you find a better way, please share it with me!
